The Ukrainian Kyiv Symphony Orchestra rings the "Bells of Victory"

An extraordinary concert event, a manifestation of solidarity and unity with the Ukrainian people, that is poised to grace Sweden for the very first time. A concert that is not just a performance, but a powerful statement of peace, empathy, and the triumph of light over darkness.
At the heart of this unique event is the Ukrainian Kyiv Symphony Orchestra, now living in exile in Germany after the unpleasant displacement as a result of the invasion. The orchestra is set to perform “The Peace Will Defeat the War” by Boris Lyatoshinsky, a piece renowned for its emotive power and its embodiment of the Ukrainian spirit. This symphony, the most famous among Ukrainian compositions, resonates with the hopes and dreams of a nation yearning for peace in the face of conflict and it’s being performed for the first time at Berwaldhallen.
This powerful symphony will be complemented by the choral symphonic piece “Legend of Kayumars” which is an interactional performance where two soloists, a choir and the orchestra bring up an outstanding mythological story. Drawing from ancient Persian mythology, this work tells the story of Kayumars, the first king to bring peace and enlightenment to humanity by vanquishing Ahriman, the god of darkness. This narrative, rich in symbolism, echoes the overarching theme of the concert: the unyielding belief that brightness and peace will ultimately prevail.
